frank's question:
Where to watch a Balinese dance if I'm in Bali?(give a different answer) .
Balinese dance is an integral part of Indonesian culture and a great way to tap into Balinese history and mythology. Ubud is the art center in Bali and that is where you'll find most of the staged dance performances. Puri Saren, Teges and Puri Peliatan are all small villages near Ubud where almost every night you can see dancers performing the Barong dance, Legong dance, Kecak dance, Ramayana or Mahabharata representations. If you want to learn the Balinese dances you should visit the Foundation for Pure Art in Peliatan, they give dance classes.
