If you’re traveling during summer you’ll sure catch one of the Jakarta’s celebrations. The most important is Jakarta Anniversary on 22 June celebrated with fireworks and with Jakarta Fair held from late June till mid July at the Jakarta Fair Ground in Kemayoran. On the eve of 22 June, several streets including the main Jalan Thamrin, are closed to traffic from dusk to dawn while there is street dancing and merry-making.
