Last time I visited Jakarta I went to see the Komodo dragons and the orangutans at the Ragunan zoo. It is located in the Pasar Minggu district south of the city. Take bus 19 from Jl Thamrin to get there. Entry fee is 3000 Rp. You have to check ahead with the opening times, it changed because of the bird flu problem.
