Getting around Jakarta

Posted 1 year ago by avatar eduardo in response to avatar charb's question: How can I travel faster around Jakarta? I mean faster than with buses, anyway. thanks (give a different answer) .

You can travel by motorized rickshaws called there "bajaj", which have monopolized Jakarta's backstreets. You should know that bajaj are banned from major thoroughfares such as Jalan Thamrin, so you might get dropped off a long way from your destination. Be sure to bargain very hard, a sample fare, from Jalan Jaksa to the Gambir train station, would be Rp7000.
