Ramayana ballet at Prambanan, Yogyakarta

Posted 1 year ago by avatar kamil in response to avatar bigduck's question: When can I see the dance performances at Prambanan? (give a different answer) .

Ramayana ballet is a two-hour dance performance staged after the Hindu Ramayana epic. The backdrop is the magnificent Prambanan temple and the artists dance under the magical moonlight accompanied by traditional gamelan music. The performances take place from 7.30 to 9.30pm four nights in a row twice a month from May to October. You can get tickets from the tourist offices all over the city but it's best to buy tickets from a travel agent that also makes transportation arrangements (a car or a minivan). Try BePe Tour, Jl. Laksda Adisucipto Km. 8 No. 74, 62 274 487058. They're specialized in Yogyakarta tours.
